After you contact me, we will discuss your goals for the session before we book a date. It is rare that I can’t accommodate a request, but it happens! No worries! Once you are booked, I will send you an invoice for the session fee which must be paid at least 2 weeks before to reserve the date (unless we squeeze you into a spot sooner!). I will also ask that you read over my policies and “sign” them via the form online here prior to the session. We will discuss what to bring, clothing suggestions, timing for the session, location ideas, and anything else you can think of before the session. I prefer to have consultations at my studio…it’s an excellent time for us to meet without distraction and to acquaint you with the products I offer.
A couple of days before the session, I will touch base with you again to make sure I have answered all of your questions, and to confirm our time and meeting place. On the day of the session, I usually arrive a few minutes before to scope out the light and stake out a good spot. For outdoor sessions, we will schedule a morning or evening session. Only on VERY RARE occasions will I agree to a midday, outdoor session. Harsh midday sun is not flattering or fun to work with, trust me! Studio sessions can be done just about anytime of the day, though I have tons of natural light and prefer to utilize it during daylight hours.
At the end of the session, we will schedule your viewing and ordering appointment…usually about 2 weeks out. Viewing and ordering is done at my studio in Denton. Images are displayed on a large flat screen tv as a slideshow, then we will go through them more slowly and sort them as necessary. I want you to be comfortable with your order. I do NOT do the high pressure salesperson thing, ever. As the products created from your images are obviously one-of-a-kind and non-refundable, I do not place your order until payment is received in full. I ask that you bring a list of any “must-haves” (i.e., pictures for Grandma, Uncle Bob, etc.), dimensions of any wall space you’re trying to arrange or frames you’d like to fill, and your spouse if you would not make a financial decision of this kind without them. As much as I LOVE kids, please try to make other arrangements for them during this time so you can choose without distractions.
Once you have placed your order and paid, I will gladly load a gallery of your images onto my blog, password protected if you prefer, so you can share your images with friends and family. When I have received all parts of your order, we will figure out a time to come by the studio and pick them up. Sometimes it is easier for me to just deliver them to you.
One last note: Image files are extremely large and take up an immense amount of disk space. As such, I delete all unordered images after the ordering session. Purchased images will be kept on file at least 1 full year. This is not a gimmick, but an unfortunate fact of life when dealing with 30+ images that are each roughly 5-7 MB each.
